For large colorful accents in the late spring garden, consider these long-lived, shrub-sized perennials. Their profuse, elongated flower spikes are held above mounds of thick foliage. Black, pea-like seed pods are often used in dried arrangements. Very resiliant and drought-tolerant once established. Not fussy as to soil type and the plants seldom need dividing.
