Tall, spiky plants bear hooded flowers held along long stems. Dark green foliage is deeply divided. An excellent, long-blooming garden plant. Prefers rich, moist soil. Avoid hot locations and burning sun. Deadhead to lateral buds and keep fertilized for second flowering. A mulch is beneficial for moisture retention. Once established leave undisturbed. Tall varieties may require some staking.
